How does one describe one of the most pivotal and foundational cultural events in recent history? Woodstock was held August 15-18, 1969 on the dairy farm of Max Yasgur in Bethel, New York. The concert was billed as “An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music” and attracted an audience of more than 400,000. Thirty-two acts performed outdoors despite the sporadic rain. Bands who played included Joe Cocker and The Grease Band, Johnny Winter, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead, and The Who just to name a few.

The festival has become regarded as a pivotal moment in popular music history, as well as a defining event for the “countercultural generation.” As one of the biggest rock festivals of all time, and a cultural touchstone for the late 1960s, Woodstock has been the reference in many different ways in popular culture. The phrase “the Woodstock generation” became part of the common lexicon.

Solid colors are made from 100% Airlume combed and ring spun cotton, 32 single 4.2 oz, while Athletic Heather is made from 90% Airlume combed and ring spun cotton and 10% poly blend. Care Instructions: Machine wash cold, tumble dry medium and use non-chlorine bleach when needed.
